A Day Victorious

Every night
I always reminisce
of the happenings
a day of life provided.
And as I close my eyes
in preparation to greet another tomorrow,
The memories of the day refuse to stick,
but last for an instant,
one click,
so I can begin to create my day lying ahead.

I use the framework of a future pre-planned;
see my feet land
in the familiar path,
breathing new air
moving through the same space,
and I see my hand
tap the cap to my pen,
as I sit during daily unplanned contemplation.

The gentleness of a dream
lends itself to sure success.

So all those impossible challenges;
some imagined,
some expected,
they build upon themselves
into a swirling madness of faces,
and emotions,
and conversations.
I live the day to the end,
and await the surge of solutions
to those waves of faces, emotions and coversations.
It always starts with a tremble - so glorious.
And quickly builds
to the single pulse
of all things righted -

A day victorious.

As if a lake of good decision
was dropped into the ocean of life;
rippling through to those adjacent,
softening their day,
securing our position,
- gleaming with love.

Then I ride that receding tide,
the slowly dimming remnants
left behind
from an exploding light of realization.
I carry myself with the decrescendo
of the choir's Spirit-lifted final verse,
and free myself into the ether of my dreams.
